Syed S. Ahmed is an associate in Sterne Kessler’s Electronics Practice Group. His practice includes preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign utility patent applications with a focus on computer-related and software-related technologies. Syed’s technical areas of expertise include microprocessors and integrated circuits, telecommunications, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, database management systems, signal processing, cloud security and infrastructure management, malware protection, web browsers, search engines, and computer-related business methods.

During law school, Syed served as an editor on the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal. Prior to law school, Syed worked in the computer industry as an ASIC engineer, in which his work included design and verification for N-way Itanium-based servers and high-end system-on-a-chip RAID controllers.

Syed received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
