Washington, D.C. (September 23, 2021) – Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox is pleased to announce that three directors have won individual 2021 LMG Life Sciences Americas Awards. Award winners were honored at a ceremony hosted in New York, NY on September 22, 2021. The award recipients from Sterne Kessler are:
- Eldora L. Ellison, Ph.D. – Hall of Fame inductee
- John Christopher “J.C.” Rozendaal – Hatch-Waxman Litigator of the Year
- Deborah Sterling, Ph.D. – Patent Strategy Attorney of the Year (DC Metro)
Sterne Kessler was a finalist in the law firm categories of Intellectual Property Boutique Firm of the Year, Hatch-Waxman Litigation Firm of the Year – Generic, Patent Strategy Firm of the Year, Inter-Partes Review Firm of the Year, and Firm of the Year – Intellectual Property. In addition to her induction into the LMG Life Sciences Hall of Fame, Ellison was also named a Post-Grant Proceedings Attorney of the Year finalist.
LMG Life Sciences editor Chris Adams said of the winners:
“For the Patent Strategy DC award, Deborah Sterling drew the attention of our team for not only a strong personal practice, but for her leadership in the firm’s biotech industry group. Her work on cutting-edge life sciences matters is exemplified by her relationship with client Roivant, a pioneering company in the area.”
“JC Rozendaal's win in the Hatch-Waxman Generic category was based on a simple factor – results. Clients such as Teva hire attorneys like him to win cases, and in viewing the past year he has achieved just that, earning victories in District Court and at the Federal Circuit.”
“Eldora Ellison needs no introduction in the IP area. Her reputation as one of the leading PTAB practitioners working today has been well-founded, and this Hall of Fame honor is a mere reinforcement of her already-cemented status in the industry. Ellison is a worthy addition to our stellar group of inductees.”
This is the ninth consecutive year that Sterne Kessler and its directors have been honored by LMG Life Sciences for achievements in life sciences intellectual property work. The LMG Life Sciences “Stars” rankings that recognize individual attorneys will be announced later this year.
LMG Life Sciences Americas Awards winners are determined through a rigorous research process involving in-depth firm submissions, practitioner interviews, client feedback and independent research.
