Maxwell H. Furigay, Ph.D., is a patent agent in Sterne Kessler’s Biotechnology & Chemical Practice Group, where he assists with the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications. Max’s technical areas of expertise include organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, synthetic inorganic chemistry, photo/electrocatalysis, and small molecules.

Max obtained his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn, his research focused on synthesizing novel small molecule organic and inorganic compounds and investigating the impact of molecular electronic structure on catalysis, reactivity, and separations. Max obtained his B.S., magna cum laude, from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, where he triple majored in chemistry, environmental science, and public policy & law. His undergraduate research focused on the development of novel fluorescent radical probes and the exploration of purification techniques arising from these syntheses.
