Overview

Richa B. Patel is an associate in Sterne Kessler’s Trial & Appellate Practice Group. Her practice focuses primarily on patent litigation, including federal district court and ITC cases.

Richa graduated from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the IP Theory Journal. She also spent multiple semesters participating in Maurer’s IP Clinic where she assisted clients with patent and trademark litigation and prosecution, as well as provided commentary on the CASE Act. While in law school, Richa competed in the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot and was a member of ChIPs and the Pauline Newman and S. Jay Plager Intellectual Property Inns of Court.

Richa earned a B.S. in Neuroscience and minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology and a Business Management certificate. She graduated with high distinction and with honors from the Hutton Honors College. Prior to law school, Richa worked as a legal intern in the automotive industry where she primarily researched data privacy and data security laws including the European Union’s GDPR and California’s Consumer Privacy Act.
