Washington, D.C. (September 30, 2022) – Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox is pleased to announce that Director Eldora L. Ellison, Ph.D., member of the firm’s Biotechnology & Chemical and Trial & Appellate Practice Groups and co-chair of the firm’s Patent Office Litigation Practice, has been appointed to the Advisory Council for the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC).

The advisory council reviews, studies, and makes recommendations regarding the Federal Circuit Rules of Practice and the court’s Internal Operating Procedures. It also acts as a liaison between the public and the Court regarding the court’s procedural rules. Ellison’s three-year term is effective from October 1, 2022, to October 1, 2025.

Ellison has substantial experience in inter partes patent matters over the course of her 28-year career, which was built on her solid foundation in patent prosecution. She has represented clients in over 70 inter partes review and post-grant review proceedings, more than 15 patent interferences, and in various patent reexaminations and district court litigations. Her expertise includes the technical areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, molecular biology, therapeutic methods, diagnostic assays, analytical instruments, immunology, virology, bacteriology and vaccines. Many rating organizations, including Managing Intellectual Property, Legal 500, IAM Patent 1000, and LMG Life Sciences, have recognized Ellison for her excellence as a premier practitioner in the life sciences.
