Locked In: Sterne Kessler Secures PTAB Denial of Four IPRs for Client Keyless

Washington, D.C. (July 18, 2025) – Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox secured denial of four inter partes review (IPR) petitions at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) on behalf of client Keyless Licensing LLC (Keyless).

In a decision issued July 17, 2025, the PTAB granted Keyless’ request for discretionary denial of IPR petitions filed by Samsung Electronics, challenging three U.S. Patents (9,304,602, 10,976,922, and 11,503,144) covering innovative data entry systems and touchscreen keyboard technologies for mobile electronic devices.

Keyless is a small, inventor-owned company. In June 2024, Keyless filed a patent infringement suit in the Eastern District of Texas against Samsung Electronics America for technology used in its Galaxy S23 mobile phones and other mobile devices.
