Washington D.C. (June 18, 2020) – Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox is pleased to announce that Directors Michelle K. Holoubek and Carla Ji-Eun Kim have been recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal in the 2020 edition of “Women Worth Watching® in STEM.” According to the editors of this special edition of “Women Worth Watching®” that is focused on science, technology, engineering, and math, honorees “are high performing, purpose-driven leaders who create value for other women and the companies, organizations and agencies behind them.”

In Holoubek’s profile, she praises the women in STEM who encourage young girls to push pass the societal biases they face and pursue careers in STEM. “Sometimes, showing what’s possible gives confidence to those who are considering entering a field, which in turn increases the number of people who actually do it,” she said.

Kim emphasizes the importance of accepting and moving on from failure, as well as the need to shatter the internal barriers that prevent women from finding their confidence. “As women in STEM, we must overcome our own self-imposed limitations – limitations that we lock ourselves into when we think, ‘I can’t do this. I am scared. Should I do it? Can I demand this?’… But that’s an illusion. We must break the box open, expand the box, then break it again,” she explained.

Launched in 2002, the “Women Worth Watching®” publication aims to recognize the change makers and leaders who have recorded outstanding achievements throughout their careers. Award recipients are selected following nominations made by their employers, colleagues, peers, and mentors.

The full publication can be found here. Holoubek’s and Kim’s full profiles can be found on page 51 and page 52, respectively.
