Kanu Sharma, Ph.D., is a technical specialist in Sterne Kessler’s Electronics Practice Group where she is involved in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Kanu’s research and industry experience involves a range of technical areas including semiconductor fabrication, material synthesis and characterization, solid state electronics, microelectro-mechanical systems, nanotechnology and wireless communication.

Prior to joining Sterne Kessler, Kanu worked as a process engineer at Samsung Austin Semiconductor where she was involved with process flow and yield improvement manufacturing processes. Having worked extensively in the semiconductor material and device manufacturing space, Kanu brings with her over 12 years of cleanroom experience. She also worked at IBM with hard disk and solid state storage systems.

Kanu received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Her doctoral research focused on MEMS materials, devices and characterization for sensor applications. She was directly involved with designing and fabricating piezoelectric cantilevers which involved working hands-on with thin film deposition, lithography, etching and characterization systems.
