Sterne Kessler Hires Former Patent Tribunal Vice Chief Judge

Melissa Haapala was featured in Bloomberg Law for joining Sterne Kessler as counsel in the Electronics Practice Group. As former vice chief administrative patent judge at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, Melissa played a significant role in developing and implementing PTAB policies, overseeing an operational division, and leading several rulemaking efforts.

Haapala will assist clients with post-grant proceedings before the PTAB, advise on PTAB practice and policy, and counsel on litigation and licensing strategies, SEP issues, and due diligence.
