Legal AI Startups’ New Competition: Big Law

Sterne Kessler director Daniel Block spoke to PitchBook on the recent trend of law firms in the U.S. investing in their own artificial intelligence (AI) projects and what it could mean for legal AI tools.

Block commented, “Harvey and Legora’s issue is that there’s starting to be increasingly less differentiation between what they offer and what Claude offers directly,” he continued, “I think the Freshfields announcement is a warning sign for these tools.”
