Sterne Kessler’s client TransData recently was featured in IPWatchdog.com for the strength of its smart meter portfolio that survived 13 post-grant attacks at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The Sterne Kessler team successfully defended TransData’s patent claims against three petitions for inter partes review at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and in ten previously filed ex parte reexamination proceedings before the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU), resulting in all claims remaining valid.

TransData’s smart meter patents are the subject of patent enforcement actions currently pending against several smart meter manufacturers and electric utilities.

Robert Greene Sterne, Donald R. Banowit, and Graham Phero represented TransData in the matter.
