Zhongyu “Alex” Wang is an associate in Sterne Kessler’s Biotechnology & Chemical Practice group. Alex assists with the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications in the fields of chemistry and pharmaceuticals. He conducts patentability, freedom-to-operate, and due-diligence searches.
Prior to joining the firm, Alex worked as a medicinal chemist at two multinational biopharmaceutical companies. While there, he designed and synthesized a variety of bioactive molecules, including small molecules, anti-sense oligonucleotides, and peptides. He is a named inventor on more than ten patents/patent applications.
While in law school at University of Connecticut School of Law, Alex was an associate editor for Connecticut Journal of International Law. He also served as executive director in Judge Janet Bond Arterton Intellectual Property Inn of Court. He received his M.S. from Stony Brook University and his B.S. from Nanjing University in Nanjing, China.
