Naveed S. Hasan is an associate in Sterne Kessler’s Electronics Practice Group.
Naveed’s practice focuses on worldwide patent prosecution and portfolio management, patent counseling, due diligence and patent litigation for corporations, start-ups, as well as universities. Naveed partners with clients to understand their business strategies for enforcement, monetization, and protection of core commercial embodiments. For example, his due diligence has focused on evaluating business interests, such as patent validity, non-infringement, design-around, freedom to operate, and assist in preparing related opinions of counsel.
With regards to worldwide portfolio procurement and management, Naveed has been involved in technologies such as bioinformatics, blockchain, augmented and virtual reality, autonomous robot devices, business methods, medical devices, circuits and other software, hardware, and mechanical technologies. Naveed has experience in all phases of the process including the ex parte appeals. In particular, he has a special emphasis on overcoming subject matter eligibility rejections
Before private practice, Naveed was a United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Patent Examiner in the computer graphics/image processing art, such as GPU processing, LCD/LED displays, augmented reality, ray tracing, cloud computing, 3D art and various other image processing technologies.
Naveed received a J.D. from Pace Law School and a B.S. in computer science from George Mason University.
