Cassandra J. Simmons is an associate in Sterne Kessler’s Trial & Appellate Practice Group. Her practice focuses on patent litigation, including matters before federal district courts and the International Trade Commission.
Cassandra received her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire School of Law, Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property with a certificate in Intellectual Property. She served as an associate editor and editor-in-chief of the University of New Hampshire Law Review. During law school, Cassandra interned at the University of New Hampshire’s technology transfer office. She also was a research assistant studying the competing incentives between intellectual property law and FDA regulations.
Prior to law school, Cassandra was a patent prosecution paralegal for Sterne Kessler’s Biotechnology group. She also has experience in various women’s health organizations, including as a health research analyst on contract for the Office of Women’s Health (HHS) and at the University of Michigan’s Women’s Health Resource Center.
Cassandra earned her B.S. in biology from the University of Michigan.
