Overview

Zach Jacobs is an associate in Sterne Kessler’s Trial & Appellate Practice Group. Zach focuses his practice on patent litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Zach was a law clerk for the Honorable Kathryn C. Davis at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, where he was involved in complex cases against the federal government involving patent infringement, bid protests, takings claims, tax controversies, military pay claims, and tribal claims.

Zach graduated from Berkeley Law, where he was an editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and a finalist in the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. Zach also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Amos Mazzant, III, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and as a judicial extern for the Honorable Mark A. Kearney, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Zach completed his undergraduate degree at Temple University, where he graduated from the university’s Honors Program. His thesis focused on disease prevention through water quality improvements. He conducted laboratory experiments on silver nanoparticles for point-of-use water purification. His findings were published in several national research journals and presented at conferences.

Zach maintains a robust pro bono practice dedicated to ending cruelty to animals. He also contributes to causes such as supporting victims of domestic violence and representing juveniles seeking asylum.
