Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox is proud to announce that the firm raised over $25,000 for the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia during the 2021 Making Justice Real Campaign. This is the largest amount that the firm has ever raised for Legal Aid Society of D.C. thanks to the generosity of firm staff and attorneys and their networks. The overall Legal Aid campaign raised over $3,000,000 from June 1, 2021 – July 30, 2021.

Sterne Kessler has been a supporter of the Legal Aid Society of D.C. for several years. The organization funds legal services for underserved communities in individual and systemic ways under its four practice areas – housing law, domestic violence/family law, public benefits law, and consumer law – as well as the Barbara McDowell Appellate Advocacy Project. As Washington, D.C.’s oldest and largest civil legal services organization, Legal Aid Society of D.C. attorneys have been making justice real for individuals in need since 1932.

Sterne Kessler would like to specifically thank Associates James T. Buchanan, Timothy L. Tang, and Lauren A. Watt, for leading the firm’s fundraising efforts as campaign co-chairs. Additionally, the firm extends sincere appreciation to Directors Paul A. Ainsworth, Tracy-Gene G. Durkin (Legal Aid Society of DC past board member), Jason D. Eisenberg, Carla Ji-Eun Kim, John Christopher “J.C.” Rozendaal, Robert E. Sokohl, Michael D. Specht, Deborah Sterling, Ph.D., and Monica Riva Talley for encouraging donations throughout the campaign by personally funding matching initiatives.
