Sterne Kessler Chief Human Resources Officer Receives Association of Legal Administrators President’s Award for Diversity

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 29, 2018) – Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox is proud to announce that Chief Human Resources Officer, Cindy Schuler PHR SHRM-CP, CPRW, has received the “President’s Award” from the Capital Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA). The award recognizes Schuler’s leadership in diversity and inclusion in the legal industry.

Schuler, immediate past chair of the chapter’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, is described by ALA’s former Chapter President, Richard Gibson, as having “revitalized the committee, significantly increased committee membership, and through educational events ignited renewed interest in the topic [of diversity] among our membership.” Gibson acknowledged Schuler further by remarking that she “worked tirelessly to provide members with the information and resources necessary to make a difference in their firms and in the legal community as a whole.”

Schuler continues to bring her excellence and leadership in workplace diversity to Sterne Kessler, including supporting an inclusive working environment at the firm. For the past several years, based on anonymous surveys of attorneys and staff, Sterne Kessler has consistently been named one of the Washington metropolitan region’s “Best Places to Work” by the Washington Business Journal and one of the “Top Workplaces” by the Washington Post.  Additionally, Sterne Kessler was recognized by IP Law 360 as one of the top ten “Best Law Firms for Minorities” with an additional distinction of being among the top ten law firms in the country for minority partners in 2015.
