Washington D.C. (June 15, 2020) – Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox is pleased to announce the firm has been recognized by The Washington Post among 200 of the “Top Workplaces” in the Greater Washington, D.C. area for the seventh consecutive year. The “Top Workplaces” distinction features private, public, nonprofit and government agencies that have scored the highest ratings in an anonymous employee survey administered by Energage, LLC.

In a city filled with law firms, Sterne Kessler is one of only nine included among the list of 200 employers and one of only five law firms in the midsize company category, which includes 75 employers.

The Post noted as a result of record employee participation in this year’s survey, which assesses engagement and satisfaction among the employees of an organization, the publication expanded the annual “Top Workplaces” list from 150 to 200 employers. The editors write that this underscores the heightened efforts of many of D.C. agencies to cultivate supportive and respectful environments. The 200 winners will be featured in a special “Top Workplaces” magazine on October 14 and on The Post’s website. The Washington Post also plans to host an awards ceremony in October to recognize the 200 top-ranked companies. View the full list of winners here.

Sterne Kessler Managing Director Michael B. Ray remarked, “To be celebrated as a ‘Top Workplace’ by our staff and attorneys again this year means more now than ever before. During a time of great uncertainty, our employees have gone above and beyond to not only continue supporting our clients with excellent service, but to maintaining our firm’s culture of teamwork and mutual respect. We are adapting to change every single day, and while I could not be more proud of the flexibility our employees have exhibited, I also cannot imagine a better team to navigate whatever the future brings.”

The current online edition of the “Top Workplaces” publication profiles the firm, noting “This D.C. law firm is laser-focused on the hard work of helping companies and individuals protect their ideas. As intellectual property lawyers, associates and partners at Sterne Kessler have to understand the minutia of how clients’ products work. Most have earned advanced technical degrees that lend them scientific or engineering expertise. The offices are not without their creature comforts; one favorite is a coffee bar offering free hot and cold specialty drinks throughout the business day.”

Sterne Kessler’s inclusion on the “Top Workplaces” list comes on the heels of the firm being named a Washington Business Journal “Best Place to Work” for the eleventh time earlier this year. Additionally, the firm continues to receive high marks from its associates as a great place to work as published in The Vault and Chambers Associate guides.
