Sterne Kessler’s Daniel Gajewski spoke at the 2026 JTIP Symposium, “From Aesthetic to Agency: Patent Law at the Crossroads of Design and Policy.” Daniel participated in the session titled “Navigating the New Landscape of Design Patents and Obviousness.”

The symposium examined how design patent doctrine, agency policy, and market forces are converging to reshape U.S. patent law and strategy. Bringing together leading patent practitioners, academics, students, and members of the greater Chicago legal community, the program explored where design patent doctrine and agency policy are headed and what those changes mean for innovators and lawyers.
