Sterne Kessler’s Melissa Haapala and Jennifer Chagnon spoke at the 2026 PTAB Bar Association Annual Conference on March 19, 2026.

Melissa served as a panelist for Session 5 (10:20 – 11:20 a.m. (EDT)), “Current State of PTAB Practice,” where panelists examined how PTAB practice has evolved in the wake of the March 2025 guidance. The discussion highlighted emerging trends, observable decision patterns, and strategic shifts shaping today’s PTAB landscape.

Jennifer served as a moderator for Session 8 (3:50 – 4:50 p.m. (EDT)), “Interactive Roundtable Sessions with PTAB Judges,” where participants had the opportunity to engage in small-group discussion on selected roundtable topics with PTAB judges.
