The 14th Annual Patent Law Institute will be held March 21-22, 2019, at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia. The event will cover topics on the latest developments in patent law, including an in-depth discussion on the global patent landscape, SEP/FRAND issues, and PTAB practice tips.

Director Robert Greene Sterne will moderate a session entitled, “The Global Patent Landscape.” The panel will discuss post-issuance patent validity reviews and enforcement realities, including post-verdict royalty determinations and availability of post-verdict injunctions, in the U.S., and then compared with those in Europe and in China. The panelists will also explore motions to invalidate in court under Section 101, and use of stays of infringement suits during parallel proceedings in the PTO, with a comparison of these practices in Europe and Asia.
