Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox is proud to sponsor the 2014 IP Video Contest held by the Intellectual Property Owners (IPO) Education Foundation. The contest, created to educate teens and young adults about the importance of the patent system, is in its fourth year.

The contest asks contestants to create and submit short videos showing why they believe the patent system is important by describing how patents have improved their lives, their community, or the life of someone they know. The deadline to submit entries is July 1, 2014.

There are three age brackets: 13-15 years old; 16-18 years old; and 19 and over. Multiple winners in each age category will receive $5,000 in cash prizes and scholarships. Teachers who share the contest with their students are also eligible to win $1,500 for their classrooms. In addition, winners will receive recognition at the Foundation Awards Dinner held at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery on December 9. Sterne Kessler will sponsor one prize in the 13-15 year old age division.
