Technical Specialists

Overview

  • The technical specialist position allows scientists and engineers who are interested in entering the intellectual property field to transition from the laboratory to the law.
  • Working as part of the team, our technical specialists bring their current scientific expertise to bear on the legal problems and matters that our firm is handling for our clients.
  • We offer individuals assistance in achieving their goal of becoming patent agents and/or entering law school with an eye towards becoming an attorney. After one year as a technical specialist, those who desire to take a review course and sit for the patent bar exam may do so at SKGF's expense.
  • In addition, should one be accepted as a student associate, we offer assistance in meeting the student's law school tuition needs through our Student Associate Tuition Program. The program provides full-time student associates with the opportunity to take advantage of a plan that pays 100% of your law school tuition, regardless of your choice of school.
  • You will work on cutting edge technology issues found only in the forefront of the field of intellectual property.
  • You will work side-by-side with our directors, as well as associates, student associates, patent agents and specialists and experience significant client contact.
  • Technical specialists are required to participate in our substantive training program and our active professional development program, which enables them to meet the challenges associated with the practice of Intellectual Property Law.
  • We are dedicated to helping you succeed both professionally and personally.
